Designer's notes

Handmade to order in Britain

Manufacturing in Britain is expensive, but we believe in supporting local makers and craftspersons. That's why each of our packs is cut and sewn from start to finish in the UK. Every bag is then hand signed by its maker.

Weatherproof waxed cotton

Our custom Halley Stevensons waxed organic cotton is highly weatherproof, to keep your gear nice and dry on those rainy days. The Fluorocarbon-free dry impregnated waxed finish doesn’t crack or transfer onto other surfaces either, but it ages beautifully.

Drawstring closure and natural canvas lining

Lid drawstring closure with natural flecked organic cotton canvas lining. The drawstring is made from US paracord and is finished with a hand-stitched leather tightening loop.

Stainless steel hardware

Our 316 military grade custom stainless steel buckles are laser cut and polished in steel city Sheffield. The side compression strap buckles and sternum straps are laser cut and polished in Wales.

Natural undyed leather base and details

Our durable, natural, undyed leather buckle loops and grab handle begin as a russet colour, but soon age beautifully to a rich tan patina. We use Spanish leather, a chromium-free and fully biodegradable and sustainable by-product of the food industry, which we then hand cut in Derbyshire.

Stash pocket

Covert stash pocket with waxed organic cotton internal sleeves, perfect for keeping your valuables close yet accessible. Finished with a neat storm flap and hardy Japanese-made YKK zip.

External laptop pocket

An external access covert pocket at the top for documents and laptops up to 15". The chunky, robust Japanese-made YKK zip is finished with a flecked-blue US paracord zip pull.

Sternum strap

Stainless steel adjustable sternum strap to distribute the weight of the backpack and keep the shoulder straps in place. Perfect for longer ramblings.

Side compression straps

We’ve added straps for attaching an extra layer, blanket, hatchet, you name it. Chunky black cotton webbing woven in the UK and stainless steel buckles laser cut and polished in the UK.

Webbing interval stitching for carabiners

The British woven cotton webbing on the front of the pack and shoulder straps is sewn in regular intervals to allow the attachment of carabiners or other accessories.

Recycled wool padding

Most backpacks use foam padding made from petrochemicals, but our padding is made from recycled wool-rich carpet fibres from a premium carpet manufacturer in Yorkshire. Comfy, natural, sustainable.

Profile side pockets

Perfect for water bottles and other non-valuables. The profiled design means they sit flush with the side of the bag when empty.

Logan Day Pack - Rust - WOW!

My new Logan Day Pack is amazing.
The quality of the bag is incredible.
It is robust and looks durable yet still retains a stylish appearance.
The Rust colour against the natural leather and blue paracords is simply stunning.
I have started to use this bag for everything, my daily commute, dog walks and even the shopping. Off to Cornwall again in Sept and it will definitely be coming with me for our hikes.
There is an external laptop sleeve, which I can also store my work phone and kindle being perfect for my commute. The strong zip with paracord makes access to the sleeve very easy.
The stash pocket on the side of the bag goes the full width of the bag and has an internal sleeve. I can keep my keys in the sleeve and wallet and ear buds in the other spacious compartment. Again with the sturdy zip and paracord access is really easy.
The main compartment is accessed via a paracord drawstring, so you can utilise the whole pack or reduce the size accordingly, the compression straps on the side of the bag can also be utilised for this purpose.
This makes it ideal for our dog walks when I'm not carrying loads of stuff and just need a smaller size bag.The compression straps can be used to carry extra gear and there are two side pockets for me and my dogs water bottles.
Special mention for the lining which is a custom topography of Logan Rock which features in the main compartment, the draw pouch and stash pocket, eye catching and just perfect.
The main buckle also stands out and looks real quality, I keep this nicely polished.
The feel of the bag is lovely, it is very comfortable to wear. The straps are thick and well padded without being cumbersome. The padding against your back is also very comfortable.
There is also a sternum strap to help distribute the weight which I tend to use on our long walks.
Fortunately have not yet been caught out in the rain but have no doubt the bag will be highly waterproof.
This is without a doubt the best bag I have ever owned and will hopefully be using this for many years to come.
The perfect bag which I would have no hesitation in recommending.
Just a final mention for Mark and Lesley. Mark kept me fully updated throughout the process and my bag arrived on a next day special delivery service before 1.00pm free of charge. Thank you Mark. Lesley has signed the bag which I believe means Lesley

Beautifully made, superior quality product

I bought this for my lifelong partner in adventure for a special Christmas/ birthday present... It's obviously not cheap but the quality of materials, precision in stitching/ making and way every detail/ feature has been painstakingly thought through makes it really worth it. He was thrilled and it's nice to support a small independent business doing things right/ sourcing sustainably rather than slinging another mass market product/ brand over our shoulders!

Excellent long-term backpack investment

This is an extremely high quality product. Comfortable, easy to use and appears to be made with durability in mind so I expect it will do many years of service. I liked the traceability of the component parts and the personal touch of information about Lesley who makes these backpacks. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic Design

The Logan Day Pack is so well designed and looks really cool and relaxed The quality is excellent - every detail has been thought through. And the waterproof canvas the Level Collective have sourced is the icing on the cake - it has the look of a natural fibre, with a soft weave, but is tough and weather proof at the same time. Well worth the money for a limited run item that stands out from the crowd - and sustainable too!
